How much would it cost to buy and install a home windmill for a 3500 sqft house?
I'd be looking to run all of my electricity through it. Any help would be great.

I'd be interested in knowing the answer to that too. A highschool in our area put up a wind turbine and I think the pay back on that is 7 years.
I haven't done much research into it but here's a link that may help.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Things to consider,
The final cost really depends on your individual situation. the
following questions should be asked to determine the the costs of a
wind power system:
1. How many kilowatt-hours is the property consuming?
2. What is the average wind speed in the area?
3. The type and height of the tower selected.
With all said then you can start to get an idea how much it will cost.. Figure @ least $10,000 + installation
It's not hard to be GREEN!

Hi Sammy,
I've done a fair amount of research into this. Greenie is correct in that there are a number of factors involved.
Here is one bit of info I found: According to the American Wind Energy Association, the typical 10kW system for home use cost approximately $32,000 in 2005.
If your interested in getting more details and facts about wind energy cost you can go here: http://www.alternative-energy-at-home.com/wind-energy-cost.html , a page I put together with more details and info on using wind energy at home.
Also, a big issue is permitting, you might want to start there (checking your local zoning). Make sure that the turbine can be built at a reasonable height. Reasonable means you would ideally like to be at a height where the average wind speed is above 10 MPH.
Good luck and keep us updated!!
Paul.
